Design and implementation of an interactive application for the color brown. Content is mediated through interaction (rather than text).
The color brown is strongly connected with earth and mother nature – and that was exactly what was taken up during the design process of the application. Only on the start screen are the individual menu items listed. The user can find out more about the individual topics by clicking on one of the buttons and entering the ground deeper.
After prolonged exposure to the color of brown it is noticeable that we always associate this color with something organic. Visually, organic means individuality and inaccuracy. From this point of view, a hand-written antiquate (font: Rachel), which was used for titles and keywords, was chosen.
To ensure a good readability and a pleasant contrast to the hand-written Antiqua, the sans serif Futura was used.
Compared to printed products, a programmed application allows us a lot more. The viewer can navigate through the application individually. Through interaction and own choices, the application can be „changed“ and the user can thus grasp and understand facts through trial and error. This application tries precisely that – to give the viewer a feeling for the color and teach through interaction.
